During installation, you may see the error: 27502. Could not connect to MySQL ‘localhost’:


 

This means that one or more MySQL components did not install correctly. For example, when installing MySQL using the GPS installer, there is an option where it asks you to enter your username and password. This is blank by default and should be left blank, but the user may try to enter some information. If this is the case, "using password: YES" will appear.

 

To solve this issue:


· Reinstall the Administrator only. If this does not work:

· Uninstall all 3 MySQL components* from Control Panel > Programs and Features.

· Reinstall MySQL manually using the files found in the included Pre-requisites Folder.
